O V E R V I E W
Aaron Judge is a preeminent figure in sports. His stats and record breaking seasons speak for themselves, however it is also important to keep in mind one’s brand and how they portray themselves on and off the field. Known for being a tremendous athlete, and having a stellar reputation with his teammates and fans, Aaron Judge needed a logo that would effectively uphold these values and communicate his prowess in any and all of his brand executions.

The creative brief given to me by Aaron Judge and his agent was to design a logo from his initials and include his number, 99. I wanted to make sure his logo would stand on its own in representing the man and player that Aaron Judge is, and not be dependent on his identity with the New York Yankees or the number he wears.
To ensure this, I designed the logo with responsiveness in mind. The “base” logo is created from his initials, something that will remain his forever. This allows for his logo to incorporate New York colors along with his number, but remain 100% usable if these elements were no longer applicable to him.
